Teen Miss Lumbee
2012-2013
Kayla Morgan

Hello everyone, I am Kayla Morgan, your 2012-2013 Teen Miss Lumbee. I am the
15 year old daughter of Ronnie and Margie Morgan of Saint Pauls. I am a
sophomore at Purnell Swett High School, honor student, captain of the JV
Cheerleading team. GO RAMS! I
attend Just Dance Studio, where I enjoy tap, jazz, lyrical, and hip-hop
dancing. I’m also on the Praise and Worship team at Precious Life Ministries.
First I would like to thank God for allowing me to fulfill my dreams and being
the strong young lady I am today. Also want to thank my family, friends, and
sponsors, without your help my success would have never been possible. It is
my duty to represent our Lumbee people with honor, pride, dignity, and
respect. Be-Bully Free is my platform. The title would allow me to integrate
my platform and educating youth and adults on the effects of bullying. I
personally understand how it feels to be abused and the importance of knowing
how to handle situations that arise from bullying. Our culture has taught us
to ignore those who pick on us and pretend it is out of jealousy. However,
bullying is on the rise across America and right here in our community as
well. The title of Teen Miss Lumbee would allow me to bring recognition to
this growing phenomenon that is claiming lives through suicide. I’m so
grateful to be your Teen Miss Lumbee. My reign started off amazing, and I love
my Lumbee sisters, Lily, Cici, and Court. They’re beyond the best. I’m looking
forward to a year full of fun, laughter, and memories. Once again I am your
2012-2013 Teen Miss Lumbee.
Gratefully Yours,
Kayla Morgan
